Minister Launches Bendigo Community Power Hub

Bendigo Sustainability Group is excited to announce its successful appointment as a host for the Community Power Hub – Bendigo.  The announcement was made by the Hon. Lily D’Ambrosio, minister for energy, environment and climate change.

The Victorian Government has committed over a two year period to develop community-owned and operated renewable energy projects in regional areas of Ballarat, Bendigo and the Latrobe Valley through a series of innovative new grants.

The aim of the pilot Community Power Hubs (CPH) is to assist the community in accessing the skills and expertise required to develop and deliver community-based renewable energy projects.

Background:
The pilot CPHs will be hosted by a local not-for-profit or social enterprise organisation that work to co-ordinate and facilitate the development and expansion of community energy in each geographic area while helping to build capacity and skills.

The Pilot CPHs will serve to:
• Reduce greenhouse gases
• Support communities in implementing their renewable energy projects
• Support other relevant Victorian Government energy priorities and initiatives

More information & details will be available soon.
